Anthony's Discus Paradise

Hi all, Thanks for visiting. I hope you will like my home grown Discus as much as I do ! Writting about Discus Keeping, it was a biggest challenging ever. With my first approach at keeping Discus by a friend in KL, nothing idea much toward of though what will Discus keeping alike & humbly with totally zero knowledge at everything. At that point of view, I yet needed for serious consideration on "Time" & "Money" ........! Anyhow, I will now by saying a loud of "YES" to "Time & Money" both are very related in this field as into a Pro. Discus keeper ! My 1st ever batch Discus arrival ( 2006, March ) by so happily indeed with being great pleasure at getting them into my tanks. Trying extra ordinary caring at everyday with much effort input......I found out that's it was not what my friend words (he was lying) of easy keeping & as simple as of ! In fact of easy dying as truly, I still never give up but further by ordering inward of 2nd batch, 3rd Batch & 4th Batch..... At one time hundred to thousand of Discus dying without any information alerting....I almost having fainted. From this point of view I realised & I also believe most keeper are NOT willing to reveal, teaching nor sharing further information at Discus keeping skill easily. Hence, what more to go further at asking from Breeder. Breeders skill was to me a commercial concern & all trade secrets or so call "Trick of the trade". The Word Discsu is synonym to class and mysticism, Keeping & breeding was a much protected trade, then. I making many oversea calls just trying my LUCK of collecting more information & skill keeping ........ somehow, my last call made by getting a breeder name who name Mr. Na, who we never met until last month (May 2008), he re-viewed on my past skills & he guide me through with his best of experience in keeping & breeding discus skill, after a Year of 2007, with his effort & blessing, my effort input have turn me into a home Discus Breeders & now I event been recong. by most Discus lover /keeper through out Asia & USA . Nevertheless, this situation is changing from time to time. Today, the Discus breeders and hobbyist are generally well informed by many books & website as a reference....yet still not enough. Hand on experience is the most important of, by more reading, farm visiting & by dying discus....hahaha ! .... Effort input & passion was the main ideal with good result shown or proven, by end of day. Through fish dying (most sadness but never give up), cause of bacteria, parasites (internal & external) infection, disease invaded from a sudden or changing of Climate, Water Parameter, Medication (most interesting), Food as home make beef heart....etc. I 'm currently now with ability at keeping discus Healthy after much persuasion from friends & would like to takes this oppurnities to thanks them, from a friend who called Mr. NA (Well Known Breeder @ Importer & Exporter of Discus), Mr. Chong (Well known hobbyist of Discus Collector) & Mr. William.( A person never give up by learning even doing his own study Discus LAB in JB) "Are they really so many Keeping secrets to discus ?" ...... as far as I concern, everything breeders does know is a secret to them, from feeding formulation to disease treatment. Every breeder wants to be the BEST & I must agree that I have the same sentiment once too. Finally, will u take this up as your hobby..... by keeping Discus ?
